M/V Alexander

PrivatSea Projects performed a major refit on this mega yacht when the owners decided to start chartering her. Amongst the works undertaken, the ship was fitted with new fire proof materials and new fire detection systems. During the same period:

  • A new Jacuzzi was installed
  • A new fully equipped cinema was created on board
  • Complete refit of staff and crew cabins
  • Medical facilities were installed

At a later stage, the owners’ suite underwent a complete refit and PrivatSea Projects upgraded all onboard entertainment and computer systems enabling internet access in all the guest areas.



M/Y Abdul Aziz (Owners Deck Refit)

A complete refit of Deck 5 (Owners Deck) and the Owner’s Day Room on Deck 3, was implemented by PrivatSea during 2002 and 2003. The design was done by H2 and Khuan Chew for different areas of the deck, outfitting works by Metrica, Oldenburger amongst others. The furniture and carpets were upgraded and all entertainment equipment was renewed.



M/Y Issham Al Baher

PrivatSea Projects installed a swimming pool and new teak decking on the sundeck and main deck, refitted fixed outside furniture and upgraded the nav-com equipment with new radars & Inmarsat Fleet systems. Finally blasting, hull painting and steel plating replacement works were performed while at dry dock. During the same period a class special survey was done and engineering plus technical support services were provided for the complete overhauling of the engines and generators, the cleaning / coating / anodes of grids and sea chests, checking / paint tunnel / anodes renew of bow-thruster, steel thickness measurements, tail shaft poker gauge and rudder clearance measurements. Finally the deck cranes, shaft propeller and steering system were repaired, capstans and mooring equipment was rearranged, anchors and cables were cleaned and calibrated.



M/Y Tueq (Sun Deck Refit)

The refit centred around cropping part of the Sun Pad (Sun-deck dodger), extending the top cover plate and re-enforcing the surrounding structure. Glass-Securit type tinted glass panels (electrically operated) of marine approved type were used. Remote Indicators of window operation and position were included. Filler application, fairing works and final coating was applied. The new enclosed space was made fully air-conditioned with the aid of a new chiller unit and six new Fancoil Units with temperature controllers were installed. The lighting, audio and TV systems were modified. Additionally, new weather-tight doors were installed and window-blinds for all 16 windows (electrically operated). Finally various carpentry works were executed, including extension/modification of the existing flooring system.



M/Y S Cape

The refit of 57-metre S Cape was delivered in just 6 months. The PrivatSea team planned the project around the desire for a radical interior refit and exterior work to improve functionality. Inside, a complex layout of partitions and different levels was eliminated by a totally new design to give clean aesthetics and open space. The lounge, suite and eight cabins for 14 passengers were sumptuously fitted with furnishings and accessories in wood shades, pastel tones and touches of gold to add a sense of sophisticated luxury. Changes were also made to the exterior, including an extension of the sun-deck to provide an outdoor lounge and dining area at the bridge deck, and the movement of the tenders from the bridge to the sun deck.



M/Y Tacanuya

Following an unfortunate accident in 2004 in Sardinia, M/Y Tacanuya suffered damage to the aft port side bar deck (involving damaged aluminum bulwark), cap rail, deck, wooden linings, wooden flooring, bar deck windows and furniture. PrivatSea undertook to repair the yacht and during those works, various improvements and refit works took place.

  • Removal of bar deck sliding windows, furniture, wooden linings, flooring, ceilings as well as removal of 2 fan coil units and associated electrical and piping in way of damaged area.
  • Cropping-off of damaged aluminum deck and bulwark structure.
  • Welding of new aluminum plates.
  • Filler application externally, fairing and painting in way of renewed aluminum structure.
  • New wooden flooring and wooden linings installation.
  • New cap rail installation.
  • New sliding windows installation including stainless steel framing.
  • Repair of damaged furniture and ceilings.
  • Reinstallation of fan coils including electrical and piping connections.
  • Painting of the entire vessels’ Port Side.
  • Refit of 1 suite into two separate cabins to accommodate a total of 7 guests.
  • Upgrade of the air-conditioning system to be more effective and less noisy.
  • Modification of the stools of the exterior bar on Sun Deck to allow for back and forth movement when sited.
  • Replacement of the carpet in the salon of Main Deck Salon.



M/Y Rio Rita

Τhe latest refit took place at Amels (NL) where PrivatSea Projects provided pre-contract support services and overall contract control. The Refit comprised of a new stern design starting from aft bulkhead, total extension length approx. 4 meters. The extension included external staircases from main deck aft to the new swimming platform and enlargement of the existing lazarette space.

  • A hydraulically operated passerelle was mounted in the transom.
  • The existing passerelle box was soundproofed by suitable insulation.
  • New kedge Anchor arrangement made at starboard side on the main deck.
  • Line hawsers to the swimming platform mounted for mooring when passerelle is in use.
  • Fairleads were replaced by highly polished stainless steel ones.
  • Two new hydraulically operated boat cranes replaced the existing cranes.
  • A four person Jacuzzi was placed on centreline at sundeck aft. On portside of the Jacuzzi a large sun bed was made. At starboard of the Jacuzzi a deck seat area was made.
  • Storage facility was provided under deck seat as well as under sun bed.
  • Finally a complete paint job for the hull, superstructure & mast.


Tueq Interior Refit

PrivatSea Projects new design was applied to a complete refit of three decks of owner and guest space.

  • New upholstery fabrics, flooring, carpets, custom made art pieces, custom made furniture, wall veneers, lighting and linen.
  • A new aquarium was installed in one of the salons
  • Complete renewal of all entertainment systems with new HD TV panels and HDMI connections.
  • Removal of old Inmarsat B systems and installation of new VSAT, Inmarsat Fleet and TVRO antennae, upgrading the AV distribution matrix and internal computer network, providing wireless access to all guest areas.
